North Minahasa Regency Holds LTF and UCLG ASPAC to Strengthen Tourism Potential

𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘂𝘁 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀 — The Government of North Minahasa Regency has announced plans to hold the Likupang Tourism Festival (LTF) and the Executive Bureau Meeting of the United Cities and Local Governments Asia Pacific (UCLG ASPAC) from April 23rd to 25th. Both events are expected to be successful achievements in promoting tourism potential and inter-city cooperation in the Asia Pacific region.
LTF 2024 is a tourism festival aimed at introducing the natural beauty, culture, and culinary richness of the Likupang region to domestic and international tourists. North Minahasa Regency has tremendous tourism potential, ranging from beautiful beaches to amazing underwater life. Through LTF 2024, the local government hopes to increase tourist visits and have a positive impact on the local economy.
In addition, UCLG ASPAC 2024 will be held simultaneously with LTF 2024. UCLG ASPAC is a network of cities and local governments in the Asia Pacific region that aims to strengthen inter-city cooperation in achieving sustainable development. The event will be attended by representatives of local governments, academics, and practitioners from various countries in the Asia Pacific.
By combining LTF 2024 and UCLG ASPAC 2024, the Government of North Minahasa Regency hopes to create synergy between the tourism sector and sustainable development. Through collaboration between tourism stakeholders and local government, it is expected to optimize the tourism potential of the region and strengthen inter-city cooperation in the Asia Pacific region.
Furthermore, the Government of North Minahasa Regency has received international recognition with the nomination of UCLG as the 10th member of the United Nation Advisory Committee of Local Authorities (UNACLA), a formal advisory body affiliated with the UN. UCLG is expanding in various regions.
“Bupati Minahasa Utara, Joune Ganda, explained that UCLG ASPAC (United Cities and Local Governments Asia Pacific) is a union of urban and local governments in the Asia Pacific region that supports subnational actors in achieving sustainable development goals and targets. UCLG ASPAC, which is a combination of UILA (Union of Local Authorities), UTO (United Town Organization), and METROPOLIS (World Association of The Major Metropolises), was established in Taipei.
UCLG ASPAC is a global platform that pays attention to the diversity of opportunities, challenges, and potentials in various regions. UCLG ASPAC also acts as a bridge to implement local government programs and achieve universal and integrated goals. Many cities and regions in Indonesia, including North Minahasa Regency, have decided to join UCLG ASPAC,” said Rizya Ganda Davega’s beloved husband.
This event is also expected to be an effective promotional platform for Likupang tourism destinations and strengthen the image of North Minahasa Regency as an attractive tourist destination. Additionally, the presence of UCLG ASPAC 2024 is expected to provide an opportunity for the regency to learn and share experiences with other cities in the Asia Pacific region in efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.
