Regent Joune Ganda, Representative of Indonesia: Leading the Delegation at The 9th UCLG ASPAC Congress in China, Alongside Former UN Secretary-General and World Leaders
DIANSSULUT.COM, YIWU CHINA — The Regent of North Minahasa, Joune J.E. Ganda, S.E., M.A.P., M.M., M.Si., led the Indonesian delegation at the Opening Ceremony of The 9th UCLG ASPAC Congress in Yiwu, China. The event was attended by world leaders, including Mr Ban Ki-Moon, the former 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations, who was one of the main speakers. The event took place on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, local time.
During the event, Regent Joune Ganda was also invited to speak in a session on village recovery. This discussion is crucial considering the strategic and current issues faced by this congress. Additionally, the congress will also elect a new President of UCLG ASPAC for the period 2020-2023. Ashok Kumar Byanju Shresta, the President of the Municipal Association of Nepal and Mayor of Dhulikhel, Nepal, will conclude his term.
Not only Regent Joune Ganda, the Indonesian delegation also includes the Regional Secretary, Ir. Novly Geret Wowiling, MSi, the Special Staff for Human Resources, DR Lucky Longdong, the Special Staff for Cooperation and Partnership, Bobby Hamenda, as well as the Head of Governance of North Minahasa, Sefferson Sumampouw SSTP, SIP, MSi. Their presence aims to strengthen the relationship between North Minahasa and cities in the Asia Pacific region.
The event was held at the Expo Ballroom, Crown Plaza Yiwu Hotel China. In addition to discussing deep global issues, this congress also serves as a networking and information exchange platform for local leaders in the Asia Pacific region. The hope is that through close cooperation, they can create innovation and sustainable development for their respective regions.
