North Minahasa Regent Attends International Tourism Meeting in China: Strengthening International Cooperation in the Asia Pacific Region

DIANSSULUT, CHINA – North Minahasa Regent Joune J.E. Ganda, S.E., M.A.P., M.M., M.Si., attended the Tourism Committee Meeting held at the Intercontinental 1 Crown Plaza Hotel in Yiwu, China, which was attended by participants from various countries in the Asia Pacific region. Monday, (11/13/2023)

“This event was opened by the Secretary General of United Cities and Local Governments Asia Pacific (UCLG ASPAC) Dr. Ir. Bernadia Irawati Tjandradewi, M.Sc., MPP, who stated in her speech that this tourism meeting aims to exchange good practices between countries in the Asia Pacific region, especially since tourism promotion through digital media cannot be contained nowadays, so it needs to be maximized, and UCLG ASPAC will assist and encourage its strengthening,” said the Secretary General of United Cities and Local Governments Asia Pacific.

“This was well received by the North Minahasa Regent who attended the meeting as North Minahasa is one of the 5 Super Priority Tourism Destination Regions in Indonesia located on the border of the Asia Pacific region. We should be grateful to God for the geographical location of North Minahasa, which is on the border of the Asia Pacific Region, and being one of the DPSP Regions in Indonesia has added value in terms of tourism compared to other places. In this meeting, by sharing good tourism practices between countries, we can learn from each other for the progress of North Minahasa,” said the Regent at the United Cities and Local Governments Asia Pacific meeting.

After lunch, the activities continued at the Yiwu Botanical Garden together with the heads of regions from Asia Pacific as a sign of friendship.
The tree planting was intended to show concern for environmental preservation. In this meeting, North Minahasa Regent Joune James Esau Ganda SE MAP MM MSi was accompanied by the head of the North Minahasa PKK TP Ibu Rizya Ganda Davega, Special Staff for Cooperation and Partnership Bobby Hamenda SE, M.Si, MIntDevEc, and the Head of Government Affairs of North Minahasa, Sefferson Sumampouw SSTP, SIP, MSi.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of North Minahasa Regency Novly Geret Wowiling, MSi, and the Special Staff for Excellent Human Resources DR Lucky Longdong followed a field visit to community empowerment activities through SME products in several places in Yiwu through the Explore Yiwu activity.
